Sarah Ann MartinStudy Interventionist

Sarah is a Study Interventionist in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Global Public Health at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. Originally from Budapest, Hungary, she moved to Eugene to pursue her BS in Psychology at the University of Oregon, where she gained extensive research experience as a research assistant across several studies, including the Early Growth and Development Study and the Dialectical Behavioral Mom’s Study, among others.

Sarah went on to earn her MA in Marital and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego, completing her clinical internship at South Bay Community Services, where she provided therapeutic support to individuals and families affected by domestic violence. This invaluable experience in mental health and crisis intervention naturally led her to her current role in the iSTRIVE lab as a Study Interventionist for Women SHINE. In this role, Sarah facilitates psychoeducational sessions, delivers the intervention to participants, and leads group sessions, creating a compassionate and supportive environment that prioritizes their emotional and psychological well-being. Sarah is deeply committed to empowering women and promoting their health and well-being within both clinical and research contexts. Throughout her career, Sarah has developed a strong interest in the intersection of mental health, public health, and community-based intervention strategies.

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, spending time with friends and family, frequenting the beach, and advocating for mental health awareness whenever possible.
