Tara Hansen, MPH, is an Analyst at DataMonitor Healthcare where she conducts in-depth research and expert analysis of the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. As part of the iSTRIVE Team, Tara was a Research Data Analyst working directly for Dr. Stockman on projects for the San Diego Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) Disparities Core and also contributes to Dr. Stockman’s ESSENCE study.
Prior to working with the iSTRIVE Research Lab, Tara received her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Economics from Hamilton College and her Master’s in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Tara’s interest in disparities arose while she was working as an EMT in college and led to her examining state-level health disparities within the United States for her undergraduate Economic honor’s thesis. As a graduate student, she focused on the intersection of infectious disease epidemiology and public policy. She also assisted with a study looking to elucidate the risk of exposure or infection to vector-borne diseases among U.S. travelers in the Caribbean and Latin America. Previously, she has worked as a Data Manager with the Center for Prostate Disease Research and as a Research Analyst with a business intelligence firm. These experiences, coupled with the global public health research she conducted with the iSTRIVE Research Lab, Tara is deeply committed to utilizing socio-cultural informed health research to address health disparities among vulnerable and marginalized populations.
