Carolina Oviedo-MuñozStudy Interventionist

Carolina Oviedo-Muñoz is a bilingual (English and Spanish) Study Interventionist with the UCSD Women SHINE program. Raised in both Tijuana, Mexico and San Diego, California, she developed a deep passion for serving diverse communities through culturally sensitive care.

Carolina’s academic background is in mental health. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Point Loma Nazarene University and went on to complete a master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy at the University of San Diego. She has experience working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and symptoms of psychosis.

In addition to her work with Women SHINE, Carolina works at a group practice where she provides individual and couples therapy. Outside of work, she prioritizes self-care by spending quality time with her husband and loved ones. She also enjoys staying active through cycling classes and weightlifting.
