Ana Y. MentadoResearch Associate

Ana Y. Mentado (she/her/ella) is a dynamic Bilingual (Spanish & English) Research Associate in the Division of Infectious Disease and Global Public Health at the University of California San Diego, where she brings her expertise to innovate studies in the iSTRIVE lab with Dr. Stockman. 

With a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology from Cal State University San Marcos and a Master’s of Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology from San Diego State University, Ana is a dedicated advocate and leader in public health equity. She is deeply committed to uplifting marginalized communities through meaningful, actionable approaches that integrate data-driven solutions, community-based participatory research, and trauma-informed care. 

Ana has built extensive experience championing health equity in critical areas, including HIV/MPOX and cancer prevention, consistently working at the intersection of science and social justice. Ana is a vibrant individual who loves staying active through dancing, hiking, and running, exploring coffee shops, and immersing herself in diverse cultures from around the world.
