On Friday, January 26, 2024, the 2024 CHIPTS HIV Next Generation Conference hosted more than 130 participants representing academic institutions, community-based organizations, healthcare institutions, and various entities dedicated to combating the HIV epidemic. Held at UCLA Covel Commons, the event featured dynamic oral and poster presentations, meaningful discussions, and networking sessions, fostering collaboration and support for emerging HIV researchers and service providers.
CHIPTS Development Core Director Norweeta Milburn, PhD, presented the 2024 William E. Cunningham Scholar Award to iSTRIVE’s own, Danielle Campbell! Danielle is a pre-doctoral fellow in the Department of Medicine, Division of Global Public Health at the University of California, San Diego. She works with Dr. Jamila K. Stockman on research projects that examine the syndemics of HIV, substance use, and interpersonal violence among populations of women living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. She has a passion for health equity and social justice, which has led her to women-centered advocacy spaces around the world.
The William E. Cunningham Scholar Award focuses on research themes and work related to health disparities and inequities, social/structural determinants, and/or medical mistrust. Congratulations Danielle on your award and all of your hard work! Your iSTRIVE family is so proud of you!
