Josefina is a Research Assistant in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Global Public Health, Department of Medicine, at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). She is currently an undergraduate student at UCSD majoring in Human Biology. Josefina was born and raised in Santiago Chile and moved to San Diego in 2015.

Josefina is committed to addressing health disparities and is interested in pursuing a career in the medical field. Before joining the iSTRIVE research lab, she volunteered with multiple organizations both in Chile and in the US working rebuilding homes for disadvantaged families, assembling COVID help kits and creating literacy kits for children.
