Mimi Ghosh, PhD, MS is an Assistant Professor at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University. Dr. Ghosh’s research interests are in the sexual transmission of HIV in women and mucosal immune responses in the reproductive tract. Her research is focused on characterizing endogenous antimicrobial molecules of the female reproductive tract and their regulation by sex hormones. She received her PhD in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health and completed her post-doctoral fellowship at Dartmouth Medical School. Dr. Ghosh’s research interests are in the sexual transmission of HIV in women and mucosal immune responses in the reproductive tract. Dr. Ghosh is specifically interested in the translational public health aspects of disease that will lead toward the development of therapeutic interventions based on naturally occurring antimicrobial molecules.
