The THRIVE Study, funded by the National Institution of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) aims to explore the as-yet understood relationship between experience of sexual violence and increased susceptability to HIV infection among women. The recently published protocol paper, entitled “The Role of Stress and Genital Immunity in Sexual Trauma and HIV Susceptibility Among Adolescent Girls and Adult Women (The THRIVE Study): Protocol for a Longitudinal Case-Control Study,” has been published in JMIR Research Protocols and details the collaboration between UCSD, The George Washington University, and the University of California Irvine.
