Lorena OrozcoPeer Navigator

Lorena Orozco is a Peer Navigator for the BRIDGES Project in the Division of Infectious Disease and Global Public Health, Department of Medicine at the University of California San Diego.

Currently Lorena is a Peer Navigator for the iSTRIVE Research Lab where she provides Peer Navigation services for participants in the BRIDGES Project. Lorena has over five years of experience working as a Peer Navigator, helping women set up goals, connecting them with resources and providing them with appropriate referrals. Lorena brings years of experience helping women link to care and retention in care, and adherence with their medication using tools that she has learned not only through professional training but also through lived experience. Lorena is trained in using a trauma informed, culturally competent approach when working with participants.
Lorena is deeply committed to and finds great joy in helping women navigate the health care system and empowering them with ways to better navigate the world around them.
